Next Step Realty celebrates and supports the American Dream
Next Step Realty, a boutique brokerage serving all of Maryland real estate, recently received recognition for their commitment to the REALTOR® Party and the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) as a Sterling R Major Investor. The REALTOR® Party is a powerful alliance of REALTORS® and REALTOR® Associations working to advance public policies and candidates that build strong communities, protect property interests and promote a vibrant business environment. This non-partisan group is committed to protecting and promoting the real estate industry above all.
“We are honored to receive the recognition from RPAC” shared Next Step, “but understanding the work they do as advocates for real estate on behalf of all REALTORS® at the local, state and federal levels, it is a simple way to show our support.” According to the National Association of Realtors website, “the REALTOR® Party is not focused on the right, left or even the middle of the aisle; it is focused on the issues that matter to existing and future homeowners and the real estate industry. The REALTOR® Party works hand-in-hand with the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC); however, RPAC is a voluntary program and provides the “hard” dollars the association uses to make direct contributions to national, state and local candidates. … RPAC supports candidates of any party who understand and champion real estate issues. It is the most bipartisan major PAC in the country.”
This legacy of advocacy was most recently demonstrated yet again for REALTORS® when, due to strong representation in the nation’s capital, provisions were passed in the CARES Act to protect and support the self-employed and independent contractors, as well as small businesses. The bill benefits not only REALTORS® but their clients too. “The real estate industry supports nearly 10 million jobs in the United States and makes up 17% of our economy,” said Shannon McGahn, senior vice president of government affairs for NAR, “Congress understands that a strong housing market will lead the economic recovery.”
At the local level, Next Step Realty is active member of the local RPAC committee – the Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS® (GBBR). The positive outcomes Next Step has seen from their support and engagement at a local level is most notable in recent ransomware protections after the May 2019 ransomware attack on city technology systems in Baltimore. Because of the advocacy of GBBR, technicians installed new firewalls and protocols to minimize the potential for future hacking.
Next Step Realty is honored to partner with such dynamic advocacy groups such as RPAC and GBBR, and they are proud to receive recognition for their commitment to the work being done on behalf of the American Dream.
